Christian Bernard's Guarantee of Quality & Value

Your most important guarantee is our "Guarantee of Quality & Value." Christian Bernard is committed to our description of quality. Christian Bernard does not overstate the grade, or exaggerate the quality of the Diamond we present to you. Our Diamonds are graded in accordance with the strictest standards in the industry, using the Gemological Institute of America's and the American Gem Society's (AGS) internationally accepted and recognized grading standards for cut, color, clarity and carat weight.

When purchasing a Certified Diamond, you will receive with purchase your own Diamond Grading Report indicating your diamond's exact grades and specifications as well as our "Guarantee of Quality & Value." In the event the quality of your diamond is in question, it can be sent in for gemological evaluation.* Should the GIA or AGS laboratories give a grade that differs by more than one Cut, Color or Clarity Grade to your diamond, then Christian Bernard will replace your diamond, at no additional cost, with another diamond of the exact or better quality as originally stated. You must present your diamond, in its original mounting, along with sales slip and Diamond Grading Report within SIX months of the purchase date for review. *Gemological evaluation must be completed by either the GIA or AGS Labs.

Note: Christian Bernard must unset and later reset the diamond you want the GIA or AGS Lab to grade, as they only accept loose diamonds for analysis. You will be charged by Gemological Labs for their independent grading report.

Our Fine, Select and Premium quality diamonds are graded according to a specific diamond quality range. They are guaranteed in writing to always be within that range.


Diamond Loss or Damage
Christian Bernard will replace your center diamond if lost from its original mounting if the setting has not been damaged or tampered with. Losses or damages that occur as the result of manufacturing defect* are covered, as long as your warranty is valid. To keep your Diamond Warranty valid, your diamond must be cleaned and inspected (at no charge) at any one of our stores at least once every SIX MONTHS. At each inspection the Diamond Inspection Card must be filled in by one of our representatives.


Craftsmanship
Your Christian Bernard jewelry mounting is guaranteed to be free of original manufacturing defects. If a manufacturing defect is found we will repair or replace the mounting, at our discretion, free of charge.


Limitations
The effects of normal wear such as: worn/broken prongs, tips or shanks will not be covered by this warranty. Your ring, over the years, will require regular maintenance and repairs. Repair work will be completed by our jewelers; customer will be charged accordingly. Although diamonds are the hardest natural substance, and do not break by themselves, they are not unbreakable. They may be accidentally chipped or damaged after receiving a severe blow. Therefore, no diamond can be guaranteed against chipping or breaking, and care should be taken to protect it from any such occurrence. Our warranty does not apply to damage resulting in unreasonable use or extraordinary conditions such as theft, accidental damage or when repaired or sized by someone other than Christian Bernard.

*Manufacturing defects occur very infrequently and such defects would become apparent within the first six months of ownership.


Our Trade-In Policy
Whenever you, the original owner, desire to trade in your diamond, Christian Bernard will allow full credit of the purchase price, less any tax, as trade towards the purchase of any other diamond of at least 50% more in price (provided the trade-in diamond is in original condition and has not been chipped or damaged). You must present original sales slip at the time of upgrade. Trade-in value is applicable on the center diamond; mounting and accent diamonds are excluded.


Insurance Recommendations
Obtaining proper insurance coverage is your number one source of protection. It is extremely important that you insure your Diamond Engagement Ring. You will wear and enjoy your ring everyday; it will naturally be exposed to wear and tear. Insurance will protect you from loss, theft, breakage, chipping or damage to the mounting. Jewelry items that you wear most frequently, as well as pieces with a value of over $1,000, should be scheduled on a separate jewelry insurance policy. Insurance can be obtained from your home/auto provider. If you have any question or need assistance, please feel free to contact your sales associate.


Complimentary Insurance Evaluation Documentation
Christian Bernard will provide you with a written evaluation document (on jewelry items purchased at CHRISTIAN BERNARD), including updated documentation as required by you or your Insurance Provider, any time. This is done as a complimentary service. We will be happy to inspect and clean your jewelry any time, at no charge to you. Please remember that your fine jewelry is precious; it should be handled with the utmost care. We recommend that your jewelry be stored securely when not being worn.
